"One of the secrets to the iPod's success, even though the iPod always had a high market share, we never rested on our laurels. "... And this year, we've gone wild. We have all-new iPods -- a new design for every single iPod. It's the biggest change in the iPod ever." The sixth generation of the iPod nano is even smaller and includes multi-touch. Apple removed the clickwheel. "It's very tiny," he said of the square-sized nano. It also comes with a clip like the iPod shuffle.
The new iPod shuffle looks like the second-generation version and is designed like a postage stamp. It has 15 hours of play time and sells for $49. It has VoiceOver, Playlists and buttons -- combining features from the past three generations.
BERLIN -- A pair of new Gmail features is making life easier and cheaper for me as I work from my hotel room as I'm attending a Berlin technology trade show.
Google's new Gmail Phone service is letting me make and receive calls from the same number that people call to reach me at home. And unlike international cell phone roaming, it doesn't cost anything between here and the U.S. And the e-mail service's new Priority Inbox feature makes it easier to find important messages amidst the many not-so-important messages that clog my inbox.
To use the free phone service you need a free Gmail account, but you don't necessarily have to actually use the e-mail service. If you don't have a Gmail account, you can set one up at Gmail.com .

Google plans to begin rolling out to Gmail users on Tuesday a new feature designed to automatically rearrange messages in their inbox so that the most important and pressing ones appear at the top.
Called Priority Inbox, the feature will be released with the beta, or test, label and is being described for now as "experimental" by the company.

Intel chief executive Paul Otellini just appeared on the Fox Business TV Network. In the interview with Fox’s Liz Claman, he explained why Intel is buying the wireless business of Infineon for $1.4 billion and McAfee for $7.68 billion, as well as the cable modem business of Texas Instruments for an undisclosed price. Here’s a link to the Intel video, and the highlights are excerpted below. I have also embedded the videos, part 1 and part 2, at the bottom.

DUESSELDORF (Dow Jones)--Intel Corp. (INTC) agreed to buy the wireless unit of Germany's Infineon Technologies AG (IFX.XE) for $1.4 billion (EUR1.1 billion) in cash, both companies said Monday.
With the deal, Intel, the world's largest semiconductor company, significantly strengthens its position in an area in which it has had limited success previously.
